Automation Features

Time/Date Scheduling Control

Get X10 macros, lighting "scene" capability and the ability to integrate audio/video control with the CS308, an intelligent home control system that offers 2-way X10 control, analog/digital sensor inputs and relay outputs. This powerful system connects to your PC for programming with the Windows-based software, but operates independently of the computer -- no dedicated PC necessary!

Thermostat Control

Control up to 32 RCS Serial or X10 based thermostats.

Keypad Control

The CommStar controller supports 16 KPG8  AND  16 KPL7 keypads.  All software to program and control the keypads are included in the Event Manager software.

Serial Interface Features

3 RS232 and 1 RS485 ports available for interfacing to RCS CommStar Compatible products.

Scheduled Events

Powerful Network Controller with real time clock allows 1000 scheduled events to control the network devices. Supports 256 if/then/else macros for complex event relationships. The CommStar controller has flash memory firmware for easy updating via download, either local or remote by modem.

IO Expansion

To add 8 more relay outputs to the CS48, add the RS485 based 8 Channel Relay 8CH. 

CommStar Network

Built-in support for CommStar RS485 devices, including 32 thermostats/sensors, 16 KPG8 keypads, 16 KPL7 keypads and 16 I/O devices (8 channel relay, DIO). New devices easily added and supported by firmware download.

X10 PowerLine Device Support 

Control any X10 compatible device including bi-directional X10 thermostats. Supports advanced X10 sequence control.

Windows Based PC Host Software Included

WinEVM, the powerful, easy-to-use software for setup and monitoring and controlling network devices. Create and download schedules and macros into the CommStar controller. Provides for configuration and setup of network devices. Once downloaded from the PC, the CommStar controller does not require the PC to operate.

Eight Channel Star Wiring Hub 

The internal 8-channel hub allows up to eight independent RS485 devices to be connected in a home run/star wiring network to the network control unit. Each channel\'s wiring can be 4000 ft. in length. Additional 8 channel hubs can be connected to the CommStar controller for 64 or more RS485 device connections. Allows for network-powered devices.
